On July 18, 2020, the law N. 9875 was published in the official journal, La Gaceta. N. 175.
Main objective: To create more long weekends through 2024 in order to stimulate Costa Rica's tourism sector.
Official celebrations (at schools and government) will remain on the official holiday, even if the off day is moved.
